The idea to create the world's first stonecutting stained-glass artwork belongs to the Leventhal Workshop. The piece was embodied in the original form – a sketch presented at the All- Russian competition of Jewelry Olympus 2012. By creative agreement, the Lobortas Classic Jewelry House joined the continuation of work in this direction. The novelty of the idea required a lot of experiments, and several more unique innovative solutions were added to the original idea. The innovation of the work is that a sculpture for window spaces was created for the first time. Only objects capable of passing light through themselves can look the most advantageous therein. With this work, it is planned to initiate a cyclus of the new and novel jewelry items in the history of jewelry – stone-carving and sculptural stained glass artpieces. The first project was a sculpture – a stained-glass artwork of the Sea of Galilee series, which embodies the image of both the sea and the figure of one of the apostles, or Jesus Christ himself represented by a fisherman pulling the net with a catch. The brighter the light from the outside, the more accurately and graphically the face and the garments of the person sitting in the boat crafted out of rock crystal is drawn. The clearer the sunlight fills the depths of the sea out of agate and jade, the more transparent the carnelian bodies of the Tiberias fish and the more mysterious the silver-gilded seine looks, and the diamonds and white gold in the rim of the halo are flashing with incredible, radiant spiritual light. The turn-and-view system was also applied for the first time to the plane of the stained-glass pattern, therefore, both the floating in the boat and the sea waters with their inhabitants are made as a double-sided stone-cutting high relief that is unparalleled. The originality of the artistic and technical design is that the inner light of the room forms its own beauty of the image, and with the advent of dawn, the life-giving sun breathes new life into the work and a new rethinking of what was seen.
